How much you'll be paid

Being a Shared Lives main carer is a paid role.

The current rate for standard carer responsibilities is £361.14 per week. If a person placed in your home has additional needs we will pay you more. All fees are agreed before placement.

Additional allowances and benefits

Additional fees are based on an assessment of support needs of the person you’re looking after. These are any additional needs over the standard provision of care.

You'll get an additional £13.15 per hour.

Support for carers

Being part of Shared Lives means being part of a professional team; you have access to a variety of mentoring support channels and training. This will help to maintain and enhance your skills to provide quality care in your home.

The scheme is registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
