A Carer’s card is a form of identification that lets others know that you have a caring responsibility. It can also give a carer access to additional support services and organisations. Many visitor attractions and leisure facilities will offer unpaid carers discounted or free entry if they are supporting the person they care for, on a day out. To find out more visit the Carers first website.
Register for a Croydon carers card.
If your GP (General Practitioner) knows that you are a carer, they can provide you with really useful support, advice and information. They can also refer you to local support networks in your area or help you understand what you're entitled to as a carer.
You can download a template letter here.
Carers Assessment is different to and separate from an application for Carers Allowance. For financial support you can apply for a Carer’s Allowance on GOV.UK.
