Dementia centres
Dementia centres enable you to stay active and social in a safe environment. This can help to manage your dementia diagnosis and improve your wellbeing.
The centres also provide respite and support for carers.
Who can use the centres
To use the centre, you have to:
- be over 18 and have care needs
- live in the local area
- have a diagnosis of dementia or another cognitive impairment
- live by yourself or with a carer in your own home
- be able to walk or stand with the help of no more than one person
There is a fee to use the centre. We’ll do a financial assessment to work out how much you have to pay.
Get access to a centre
To use a dementia centre, you need to request support from our specialist team. We will:
- discuss your situation
- offer you the support that suits your needs best, not only the support you apply for
- let you know how much it costs and how you pay
Once we’ve got your request, we’ll arrange to visit you at home so we can work out what you need.
Request support for an adult
You can request support for yourself or someone else.
