Registration criteria
The maximum funds raised in any one lottery must not exceed £20,000 or a maximum of £250,000 in one year.
If you have already registered
If you already hold a registration you must notify the council each time you hold a lottery.
A statement must be submitted no later than three months beginning on the day on which the draw (or last draw) in the lottery took place.
It must be signed by two members of the Society appointed in writing for that purpose by the Society, or its governing body if applicable, and accompanied by a copy of that appointment.
All signatories must be over the age of 18 years.

After you've applied
The registration is valid for a year from the date it is granted.
Renewing your registration
You can pay your renewal fee online. The fee for renewal is £20.
Alternatively payment can now be made over the telephone by credit or debit card, if you would like to use this facility please telephone 020 8760 5466.
If you do not pay the renewal fee within one month of the expiry date the registration will lapse and you will have to make a fresh application.
If your registration is rejected
Your application will be refused if:
- in the period of five years ending with the date of the application the operating licence held by the society is revoked or has been refused
- the society is not a non-commercial society
- a person who will or may be connected with the promotion of the lottery has been convicted of a relevant offence
- information provided in or with the application is false or misleading
Appeal a decision
If you object to any of the conditions attached to a registration may appeal to the Croydon Magistrates Court.
You can also have to attend a hearing.
