If you wish to display goods or services on the highway or trade from a mobile vehicle you will need a street trading licence.

Street trading policy

This policy covers all applications for street designation orders, temporary licences and street trading licences.

Eligibility criteria

If the site you are applying for has not been previously licensed for street trading you will need to apply for a street designation order and a temporary licence. If the site has been licensed in the past you will only need to apply for a street trading licence, which is valid for one year.

If you wish to trade on a private forecourt or car park but your display or vehicle is within 7 metres of the highway, you may be required to have a street trading licence.
