Cost of commissioned home and residential care 2021 to 2022

Details of our Living Wage support for commissioned home and residential/nursing care providers for the financial year 2021 to 2022.

As a Living Wage borough, we continue to show our support for increased costs within the care sector by allowing providers to meet London Living Wage requirements. We have developed a 3 year strategy to ensure we pay an appropriate rate in line with the minimum cost of care.

All increases are subject to written confirmation from the provider of our care services, stating they will be paying their staff London Living Wage or National Living Wage as appropriate. We can request evidence of this at any time.

Home care providers

From 1 November 2021, we will ensure that all home care providers (unless providers who are on the Homecare DPS) are paid no less than:

  • £16 for 60 minute rates
  • £12 for 45 minute rates
  • £8 for 30 minute rates
  • £4 for 15 minute rates

For any providers paid above these rates, their current rates will remain the same. We will be contacting providers again in March 2022 to inform them of the rates for the financial year 2022 to 2023.

Older people's residential/nursing care providers

The agreed cost of nursing and residential care for the over 65s is provided below:
