Asda Foundation grants

The Asda Foundation supports small, grass roots organisations in several ways throughout the year. Working with Asda’s Community Champions in store, they can work with a range of organisations and groups on a variety of local community projects.

Children and Young People’s Resettlement Fund

The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has launched the Children and Young People’s Resettlement Fund.

Up to £2.5 million is available from 2023 to 2025 to fund projects which support the specific needs of children and young people aged 21 and under who have come to, or settled in England, via:

  • Homes for Ukraine Scheme
  • Ukraine Family Scheme
  • Ukraine Extension Scheme
  • Afghan Resettlement Scheme (pathways 1, 2 and 3) 
  • Hong Kong BN(O) Visa Scheme

Local authorities and Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations based in England can submit bids for grants for suitable projects. DLUHC expect to award a minimum of £1.5 million of the fund to regional and national projects. However, they also welcome bids from smaller local projects, including joint and consortium bids which have a named lead delivery partner. For individual projects, DLUHC expect the funding to range between £100,000 and £300,000.

Application support

Support is available to applicants via the My Community website. Initial support and advice are on offer to all interested applicants up to the EOI stage.

After the EOI stage, certain applicants will be able to access in-depth support for the development of their application and business case. This may also include access to small revenue grants to secure specialist support.

Fight for Sight – The Capacity Building Fund

Fight for Sight is the operating name of British Eye Research Foundation, a registered charity in England and Wales. The charity funds both scientific research that advances the understanding, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.  It also funds social change projects.

Objectives of Fund

The Fund is designed to support the creation of a sight loss sector that is coherent, sustainable, and resilient to the rising demand for equal service provision across the UK.
The fund offers unrestricted grants for organisations in the sight loss sector across the UK whose growth and sustainability are challenged by the uncertain economic climate and cost of living crisis. Grants of between £10,000 pounds and £20,000 pounds are available.

The grants focuses on two key areas:

  • collaboration between organisations within the sight loss sector and between the sight loss sector and external institutions
  • small charities and grassroots organisations

How To Apply

The deadline for applications is 9.00am, 7 January 2025. All applicants will be contacted about the result of their application by 31 March 2025.

Free and expert fundraising advice to small charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and social enterprises. This resource is mainly for organisations in Kent and Medway, however many of the funds listed are also available to groups in Croydon.

Housing and Immigration grant - Fast Track Cities London

Housing and immigration grant application deadline extended  to Wednesday 11 December at 5pm to give providers an extra week to prepare their submissions, given that the deadline is immediately after the World AIDS Day weekend.

Local community partnerships

Local Community Partnerships - Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA). The council is working closely with CVA, other voluntary, community and faith sector partners, One Croydon and the Kings Fund to devolve 'power and authority to local people and communities'. There are 6 Local Community Partnerships planned and as they are established, they present an opportunity for locally based organisations to apply for funding.

Reaching Communities England

This programme is offering over £10,000 of funding for organisations that work with their community. This includes people living in the same area, or people with similar interests or life experiences.

The funding aims to support communities with the things that are important to them, including:

  • reducing the impact of the cost-of-living crisis
  • supporting them to recover financially
  • helping them to rebuild and grow following the COVID-19 pandemic

In order to support communities, they fund projects and organisations which aim to:

  • build strong relationships in and across communities
  • improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
  • help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage.

Suicide Prevention VCSE Grant Fund

The DHSC has launched a £10m Suicide Prevention VCSE Grant Fund for 2023/24 and 2024/25, to support suicide prevention activities delivered in England by non-profit organisations. Applications can be made up until 1 October. Applications must be made online via the Find a Grant portal by searching for "Suicide Prevention Grant Fund 2023-2025".

The Fore

The Fore provides unrestricted grants to small charities and social enterprises based in the UK.
