Class A drug property closures

The police work with the council to shut down any property where illegal drugs such as heroin, cocaine, crack, ecstasy and LSD are being manufactured, sold or used.

The police work with the council to shut down any property where illegal drugs such as heroin, cocaine, crack, ecstasy and LSD are being manufactured, sold or used.

Once an order to close the property has been granted by the magistrates court, no one is permitted to enter the property for a period of three months (in some cases this time period can be extended to six months). After the property is closed, the residents are informed of the action taken and warned not to make, sell or use illegal drugs in their property.

The leaflet below was issued to residents following a Class A closure of a West Croydon property. The tenant was not permitted to enter the property and the council took action to re-possess the property.
