Information about the appointment of Commissioners at Croydon Council.
On 17 July 2025, the then Minister for Local Government Jim McMahon confirmed in a Written Ministerial Statement to Parliament that the then Secretary of State had appointed Commissioners at Croydon Council.
The intervention package is to be in place until 20 July 2027, with a review period after one year in which certain functions may be returned to the Council subject to clear and sustained evidence. The Commissioners are expected to provide reports every six months to the Secretary of State.
