Pollution from industrial and commercial sources is controlled by the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 (EPR) and its amendments.
These include:
- dry cleaners
- paint spraying operations
- crematoriums
- petrol stations
A list can be found on Local authority environmental permits (GOV.UK website).
It is an offence to operate a Part B process without a permit.
Some installations may also require planning permission.
Local Authorities are required to keep a register of “permitted” processes in the Borough and this can be accesses by contacting us at: SpecialistPollution@croydon.gov.uk.
You can see a list of industrial processes which are registered in Croydon on the Love clean Air website
