Looking for somewhere to park your car or motorbike? We have a selection of garages available for rent throughout the borough.

Price

The amount you will pay will depend on where the garage is located. Average rent is £16 per week.

There is a long waiting list for all areas, it can be up to 2 years before a garage becomes available.

You do not have to be a council tenant to rent a garage, but council tenants are given priority.

You may rent a garage in a housing area other than your own, but tenants from the area where the garage is situated may have priority when there is a waiting list.

Where permission is granted, you will be allowed to use the garage for the storage of non inflammable chemicals or equipment such as furniture and personal items. We do not accept responsibility for theft, loss or damage of any property stored in the garage.

How do I cancel the renting of a garage?

You would need to give the garage officer one week's notice informing us that you are terminating. You will then need to complete a termination form (below) and return this, along with the keys, to one of the garage officers. You can call our team on 020 8726 6000, at Bernard Weatherill House before midday on a Monday, to avoid being charged another week's rent. 

When terminating your garage tenancy, you must leave the garage in a clear, clean and tidy, re-lettable condition or possibly face rechargeable costs for the removal of possessions left behind.
