If you are in immediate danger or there is an emergency call 999. If you are unable to speak, dial 55 and you will be transferred to the police.

For 24/7 support, you can call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline for free. They will be able to advise you on your options including vacancies in refuges if you plan to leave, or have left your home.

Who can apply

If you are experiencing domestic abuse, you can make a homeless application in any local authority, even if you do not live there.

You can apply as a homeless person if you can't stay in your home due to domestic violence.

Domestic violence and abuse may include physical abuse, emotional, psychological abuse, sexual abuse, financial abuse and harassment.

It can happen to people of any gender, sexuality, or age. If you're in fear of a partner, ex-partner or member of your family, you may be experiencing domestic abuse.

You can make a homelessness and housing advice application if you cannot stay in your home.

Our advisors will be able to direct you to the best support for your circumstances.

If you have nowhere safe to live today

You can access refuges or alternative housing support through the National Domestic Abuse helpline.

If you need to leave your home and have nowhere safe to go tonight, you can come to Access Croydon, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA.

Open between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays.
