How to keep your home safe when charging your e-bike or e-scooter.
The London Fire Brigade has reported a significant increase in fires related to e-scooters and e-bikes. They are responding to an incident once every two days.
E-scooters and e-bikes often use lithium batteries which can start incredibly ferocious fires. These fires are hard to control and spread extremely quickly through buildings.
It is important to take precautions to prevent potential fire hazards that could endanger you, your home, and your neighbours' homes.
Watch the video on this page for quick safety tips. You can also visit London Fire Brigade and The Government's Fire England for more information on how to keep your home safe while charging your e-bike or e-scooter.
The council prohibits the storage of e-bikes or e-scooters in communal areas or on balconies to ensure fire safety.
