Free safety advice and equipment for council tenants

Eligibility

This free service is available to council tenants living in Croydon, with children under the age of 5.

What’s Included

Eligible families can receive up to:

  • 2 stair gates
  • 2 fire guards

A home safety officer will conduct a free safety assessment of your home and offer practical support and advice to improve household safety. 

This may include:

  • Fitting child safety equipment such as cupboard catches and socket covers
  • Advice on electrical cable safety
  • How to fit stair gates and fireguards where needed

The visit typically takes around one hour.
