Find information about our plan to deliver new playgrounds in the borough.
We maintain 57 playgrounds within parks and open spaces across the borough, as well as other recreational facilities including outdoor gyms, ball courts and sports pitches.
We recognise the importance of having freely accessible facilities for all our residents to enjoy, as well as the wider health and wellbeing benefits they provide. That’s why we work hard to keep these facilities well maintained and updated with new facilities as time goes on.
We are about to begin a series of redevelopments to playgrounds at various sites within the borough that we have recognised as the most in need of improvement. We will also be carrying out additional maintenance across many other playgrounds including surfacing repairs and other repairs to bring play equipment back into use.
Overall, we will be spending over £600,000 on all of these improvement works, funded predominantly through the our capital programme and a contribution of crowdfunding.
We are holding engagement sessions where you can ask questions and provide feedback. Sessions will be held inside the playgrounds on the following dates:
