Household recycling centres are open.
Our sites accept
Our sites accept a full range of materials for recycling, as well as the following:
- household waste in black bags
- garden waste
- small electrical goods
- small bulky waste items
Please sort your waste into these groups before leaving home to reduce the amount of time spent on site.
Our sites do not accept
- asbestos
- chemicals
- gas bottles
- paints or varnishes
- tyres

Our sites
Please note we may need to:
- limit the number of people who can access our sites
- temporarily close sites if they become too busy
Factory Lane, West Croydon CR0 3RL
Pedestrians can now access Factory Lane.
Visitors must access the site from the south via Roman Way, A236. You will not be able to turn right into the site if you come from the other end of Factory Lane.
- Monday to Saturday, 7.30am to 4.30pm
- Sunday, 8.30am to 4pm
The site closes at these times and at busy times gates will close earlier to ensure all members of public are off site at this time.
Fishers Farm, North Downs Road, New Addington CR0 0LB
Pedestrians can now access Fishers Farm.
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
- Saturday, 9am to 2pm
- Sunday, 9am to 1pm
Croydon Community Reuse Shop
The Community Reuse Shop is located at Fishers Farm Household Waste and Recycling Centre, and gives local residents a chance to donate pre-loved items rather than throw them away, with all proceeds from sales going back into the operation of the shop.
Customers can find great deals on items such as refurbished electronics, homeware, books, toys, sports equipment and musical instruments - all of which have been saved from disposal and fixed up to be used again.
The shop is accessible by car or foot, and is open:
- Fridays, 9am to 4pm
- Saturdays, 9am to 1pm
- Sundays, 9am to 12pm
Purley Oaks, Brighton Road, South Croydon CR8 2BG
Visitors must join the queue on Brighton Road, A235, north of the site, there will be no access from Purley.
- Monday to Sunday, 8am to 3.30pm
Site rules
General site rules you must comply with when using the reuse and recycling centres.
You must:
- be a Croydon resident
- have a permit or identification to take a vehicle into the centres
- not use a mobile phone on site - you may be asked to leave if seen using a mobile phone
- not use verbal abuse or threatening behaviour towards staff - this will not be tolerated and you will be removed from the site
Permit information
If you have a vehicle permit, it must be displayed at the top right of your vehicle’s windscreen when you visit the site.
Apply for a permit
If you do not have a vehicle permit you can apply for one at one of our household recycling sites.
You must bring documents that prove your identity and address. You cannot use the same document for both photo ID and proof of address, they must be different.
Once your documentation is checked a permit can be issues by the site staff.
Please note: Permits are not issued for vans
Photo identification
You must bring one of the following:
- passport
- full or provisional UK driving licence
- EU photocard driving licence
- national identity card (non-UK nationals)
- Freedom Pass
- Electoral Identity Card
Proof of Croydon address
You must bring something that proves you live in Croydon, this can be one of the following:
- full or provisional UK driving licence
- EU photocard driving licence
- utility bill, dated within last 3 months, not a mobile phone bill
- bank or building society statement, dated within last 3 months)
- Council Tax bill (dated within last 12 months)
- mortgage statement (dated within last 12 months)
- benefit statement or letter, for example pension or Child Benefit, dated within last 3 months
- HMRC document (not P45 or P60)
Vehicle access and restrictions
Cars can be used at all sites during their opening times.
- no trade waste
- maximum six bags of rubble
- no pick-up trucks exceeding 5 metres in length
Cars with trailers cannot be used at any of the sites.
Vans have the following restrictions:
- can only use Factory Lane HRRC on Tuesday and Wednesday between 11am and 1pm
- must not be more than 5 metres total length and 2.6 metres high
- no tippers
- no Lutons
- no trade waste
- maximum six bags of rubble
Vehicle permits must be displayed and will be checked prior to entry, which may lead to longer queues. If you do not have a vehicle permit, you must bring documents that prove your identity and address.
Additional traffic management will be in place on Factory Lane and Purley Oaks, Brighton Road to manage queues.
