31 August 2021 – Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School is now closed

School closure

In consultation with the Interim Executive Board (IEB) of Governors and the Archdiocese of Southwark, the council led on a pre-publication consultation, followed by a four week representation period allowing stakeholders to comment on the proposed closure of Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School from August 2021. The process for decision making regarding school closures is set out in the Department for Education’s (DfE) statutory guidance ‘Opening and Closing Maintained Schools’ (November 2019).

After careful consideration of all responses received during both consultations, the decision has been made to close Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School from August 2021.
