Transfer from infant to junior school: step by step

How to apply for a place when your child transfers from infant to junior school.

Deadline: the closing date for junior school applications is 16 January 2025.

This step-by-step process is for parents of children currently attending an infant school in year 2 moving onto a junior school in year 3. Please refer to the primary school in-year admissions process.

Please note, there is no automatic transfer into a junior school even if the infant school is joined to a junior school.
