The vision for Locality Detached & Outreach (LDO) is to ensure all young people living, working, or attending schools in Croydon and their families have the opportunity to access the services they need. This is particularly important for the most vulnerable young people and families who may still be dealing with the impact of the pandemic.
We hope that engaging young people, who are deemed hard to reach, in conversations and positive activities will enable them to make informed choices.
We aim to support the meaningful participation of young people in the political decision-making process to ensure their voices are heard.
We offer a variety of youth work support:
Detached and outreach: This work involves delivering youth activities outside of a dedicated venue (like a youth hub) using the youth bus. The youth bus goes to different locations around the borough and delivers a youth session from the bus. This involves positive activities like:
Reconnaissance: Reconnaissance sessions are aimed at exploring and assessing specific hot spots for youth violence in the borough and if we identify a need for outreach sessions then we will include those locations in our schedule.
Response: Response is an outreach session which has been deployed in an area where recently there has been an incident of youth crime.
