How we work out your Housing Benefit

The amount of Housing Benefit you get depends on:

• the applicable amount (the amount of money the government thinks you need to meet your basic needs)
• other adults who live with you
• your savings, investments and property
• your income
• your rent (Housing Benefit only)

Until we have all the necessary information and evidence to process your claim, we cannot tell you exactly how much benefit you will get.
