Special treatment licence
If you run a business that offers beauty treatments, massage, alternative therapies or tanning facilities you may need a special treatment licence.
Who needs to apply
Premises offering special treatments must have a special treatment licence.
Treatments include:
- massage
- acupuncture
- manicure
- piercing and tattooing
- sauna and light
- electric or vapour treatments
Licence conditions
All premises offering special treatments must comply with the special treatment licence conditions (PDF, 277KB).
Exemptions
Some professional organisations and associations have applied for an exemption for their members. View the list of exempt organisations and associations (PDF, 323KB).
