If you run a business that offers beauty treatments, massage, alternative therapies or tanning facilities you may need a special treatments licence.
Your licence will only be issued to you when all the necessary inspections or checks have been carried out and the premises meets the required standards. Tacit consent, where you can assume that the licence has been issued even though you have not heard about a decision, does not apply.
The licence may also list additional site specific conditions.
If you are refused a special treatments licence, or if you object to the licence conditions, you can appeal by contacting Croydon Magistrates Court.

We advise that in the event of a complaint you first make contact with the business that holds the licence. If you are not satisfied with their response, contact the licensing team.
