The programme is provided by Richard and Siobhán Coward Foundation, a small, privately funded, charitable foundation established to honour the life and work of Richard Coward.
The funding is designed to empower children and young adults under the age of 25 year old to take part in activities that provide practical photographic experience and techniques.
Activities must provide a therapeutic effect on children's or young people's physical and mental wellbeing.
Grants of between £500 and £1,500 are available.
Projects benefitting from these grants would be expected to last for up to a year and be put into effect within the same year.
The foundation can fund up to 100% of costs, but normally expects its contribution to be matched either by other funding or in-kind contributions.
Applications can be made by the artist or photographer who will be leading the project or by charitable organisations on their behalf. Projects must take place in the UK. Only 1 application may be submitted per year.
Grant applications must be for new project proposals, though it may be phase of a longer-term programme or a part of a wider project.
