Fostering payments are made weekly, and are made up of an allowance to be spent on the child, and a fee for yourself.

A specialist level fee of £600 per week per child payable for specialist fostering types.
Additional payments and benefits
The additional payments available are:
- Council Tax reimbursement (subject to fostering activity and compliance)
- retention bonus of £1,500 per year after 3 years of fostering for Croydon (subject to fostering activity and compliance)
- welcome bonus of £1,500 for transferring carers
- birthday allowance up to £289 per year per child
- festival allowance up to £289 per year per child
- holiday allowance for the child up to £578 per year
- holiday allowance for the foster carer up to £700 per year
- referral reward of £1,200 upon approval of new carers
- Start up grant of £500
- School uniform allowance of £300 per year per child
In total the amount you will receive will be between £541 and £922 per week per child depending on the age of the child (based on the allowance, fees and extras).
