Scheduled maintenance:
some of our online forms will be unavailable on Thursday 15 May between 7am and 8am. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
After you apply to join the housing register:
Your ‘wait time’ on the housing register will start from the date that your application was first submitted.
We will email you from time to time if you are included on the register.
We will not be able to tell you exactly where you are in the waiting list, or whether you will receive an offer of housing.
You can check your position on the housing register on your Housing Online account.
If your application is successful and verified, you will be provided with your login details and will be able to search and bid for council and housing association properties on the Croydon Choice website.
Before you can bid on any properties, we will need to verify your housing need.
If you are flexible about the properties that you place bids on, it will give you a greater chance of being shortlisted.
We cannot tell you the status of your bid once it is submitted. Bidding for a home does not guarantee an offer, and wait times can be very long.
You will only be contacted if you have been shortlisted for a property.
We will send you a letter with our decision about your application.
The letter will include details of how you can appeal or raise a complaint.
If you need further support with the application, call 020 8726 6000.
If your situation has changed, you must tell us straight away.
This could be:
You will not need to supply these details if your application is withdrawn or cancelled.
