Official local land charges search

The Local Land Charges Register will be migrated to HM Land Registry on 24 April 2026. You will be able to access a new digital service through your Portal account, Business Gateway and on the HM Land Registry pages.

We will not accept searches of the Local Land Charges Register (LLC1 or Visual Inspection) submitted after Friday 17 April in order to ensure we are able to respond to all searches prior to the migration to the HMLR service.

We will continue to provide replies to CON29 enquiries, please apply for these searches using your usual channels.

Official local land charges searches are carried out and certified by the council on behalf of a person buying land or property.

A search takes 2 to 3 working days to process. Please let us know if your search is urgent.
