This project aims to preserve the unique heritage and biodiversity of Ashburton Park as it approaches its centenary milestone.
The transformative '100 Years of Ashburton Park' project' is rooted in historical preservation and local community stories. This collaborative project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, will rekindle the spirit of the park as it approaches its centenary milestone.
At the heart of this project is the preservation of the unique heritage and biodiversity of Ashburton Park. From the stories and events past, to the historical natural landscape, the park’s unique history will be central its restoration.
Our goal is that every resident can be part of the transformation of Ashburton Park. From heritage sessions and gardening initiatives to learning new skills and events, the project will host a range of community engagement opportunities so everyone can get involved.
Children and young people are the future of Ashburton park, so this project will provide educational programs, interactive events, and mentorship opportunities to nurture their connection with the park and its rich heritage.
This project is committed to enhancing the safety and security of Ashburton Park. We recognise that a safe environment is crucial for a thriving community and we are dedicated to implementing measures that ensure everyone can enjoy the park without concern.
We are always on the lookout for volunteers. If you think you might be able to contribute your skills, help with an activity or support us in keeping the park clean, safe and litter free, we would love to hear from you. Email us parks@croydon.gov.uk
