History

Bourne Park (previously known as Kenley Recreation Ground) lies in a narrow strip of land between the busy Godstone Road and the Railway line from Kenley to Whyteleafe. It was acquired by the Coulsdon and Purley Urban District Council in 1921 and was laid out as a public park with a playground.
