Local heritage areas

LHAs are areas with significant architecture, townscape or landscape. Decisions on planning applications in an LHA will take the area's special character into account.

Statutory listed buildings

Buildings of national architectural or historic interest in Croydon. Listed building consent is required to do work to one of these buildings.

Locally listed buildings

Locally listed buildings do not require listed building consent for development work, but the council will take the building's historic and architectural character into account in planning application decisions.
