Conservation Area Advisory Panels

There are 3 volunteer-run CAAPs in Croydon that provide independent advice to the Council on heritage issues.

Conservation Area Advisory Panels (CAAPs) are voluntary groups with an interest in the historic environment. They provide independent advice to the Council on conservation areas and local heritage issues. This allows local communities, residents, business owners and those with relevant interests or expertise to get involved with conservation in Croydon. The groups are independently run, and members decide how they are run. 

CAAPs are informed about planning applications in their area and have the opportunity to provide comments on them. The Council also engages with CAAPs when preparing and reviewing planning policy and guidance, heritage appraisals and management plans, and registers of local heritage assets.

There are currently 3 CAAPs in Croydon:

North Croydon CAAP

Covering Beulah Hill, Church Road, Harold Road, Norbury Estate, Norwood Grove, South Norwood and Upper Norwood Triangle Conservation Areas

Mid Croydon CAAP

Covering Addington Village, Central Croydon, Chatsworth Road, Church Street, Croydon Minster, St Bernard’s, The Waldrons, The East India Estate and Wellesley Road (North) Conservation Areas.

South Croydon CAAP

Covering Bradmore Green, Croham Manor Road, Kenley Aerodrome, Webb Estate and Upper Woodcote Village Conservation Areas.
