Early technical surveys are underway ahead of developing proposals for how to improve Central Parade and the surrounding area.
The brand new multi-million pound leisure and community centre opened in New Addington in January 2020. This is the next stage of regeneration that will transform the western side of Central Parade.
This modern leisure centre with extended sports and leisure facilities includes a 25-metre, six-lane main swimming pool and a learning pool, a fitness suite, sport hall, multi-purpose activity studios.
It also includes community space (with a capacity for approx. 300 people) consisting of two large halls, kitchen, bar, public toilets and associated storage rooms. This will be available for a range of activities and events - subject to the type of event and space required.
The centre offers flexible spaces that appeal to and can be used and enjoyed by all sectors of the local community.
The project has created more than 75 jobs for Croydon residents. It has also been Wilmott Dixon’s first Building Lives Academy, which aims to upskill young people in Croydon and provide them with a foot in the door to the construction industry.
