  • independent living skills
  • accessing leisure facilities
  • referrals to other services that can support you
  • support with assessments, for example direct payments and personal budgets

Who can use the service

  • Anyone living in Croydon with permanent and substantial sight and hearing loss.
  • You must have permanent and significant sight loss in both eyes.
  • You do not need be registered as sight impaired (partially sighted) or severely sight impaired (blind).

You cannot use this service if your sight is corrected with glasses or contact lenses.

How we assess your needs

A specialist deafblind assessor will assess your needs.

If your hearing loss affects your daily life, ask your GP to refer you to an audiologist for a hearing aid test.

Requesting support from the council

You can request support for yourself or someone else online.

Registering as deafblind

Registering helps us find out how many deafblind people live in Croydon so we can plan our services. You do not have to register as deafblind to use these services.
