If you wish to trade in metals or motor salvage you will need to apply for either a site licence or a mobile collectors licence or both.

Once completed send both forms to the Licensing team, together with all the documents listed on the form.

Scrap metal dealer licence fees

There are 2 different fees for site licences and collector licences:

  • site fee for new applications: £644
  • collector fee for new applications: £446

Criminal checks

As part of the application a current criminal record check is required. This must be no more than 3 months old at the date of submission.

You should apply for your criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
