Types of gambling premises licence
There are five different premises licences:
- adult gaming centre premises licence – if you operate Category B, C and D gaming machines then you must have a premises licence
- betting licence (bookmaker)
- betting track premises licence – if you run a sports track or stadium where betting takes place you must have a premises licence
- bingo premises licence
- family entertainment centre premises licence – if you operate Category C and D gaming machines then you must have a premises licence
There's a different process if you're transferring a licence or your want to apply to vary a premises licence.
If your premise is under construction
You can apply for a personal statement while your premise is being constructed, extended or altered for the purpose of being used for one or more licensable activities.
Obtaining a provisional statement does not convert into a premises licence once the construction is complete.
