The Civic Mayor of Croydon

About the Civic Mayor of Croydon, their charities, how to invite them to your event, events and updates.

Events and updates

The Civic Mayor attends a range of events during the year, and this is an important part of their role. Some are organised by the council, but most are arranged by others.

There are 6 kinds of engagement:

  • Civic events, for example, Remembrance Day and Holocaust Memorial Day
  • Community events, for example, invitations from local organisations such as opening new shops or fairs.
  • Charity events, such as fundraisers. These might be organised by the Civic Mayor and the Mayor’s Charity Board, or by non-council organisations
  • Out of borough events, for example, other Mayor’s events, invitations from national organisations with no Croydon connection. Other events out of the borough would only be recommended where there is a strong link to Croydon
  • Royal events or visits by dignitaries. These can be organised by the council or other organisations
  • Civic Mayor's Community events. These are organised by the Civic Mayor with support from The Civic Mayor’s Office and funded from The Civic Mayor’s events budget. For example, Christmas Carols

  • International Mother Language Day (February)
