Mental health support
Perinatal is the time from when you get pregnant up to 2 years after you give birth. Taking care of your mental health during this time is important for both you and your baby.
If you're feeling low or anxious, there is plenty of support available.
Your GP or midwife
Your GP or midwife can direct you to services based on the level of care you need. For example, they can:
- tell you about informal peer support groups
- refer you to the perinatal mental health team
Your health visitor
Your health visitor can offer support for looking after your baby and managing your mental health.
