Sheltered housing is designed to meet the needs of older people who are seeking a home for independent living into their retirement.

After you apply

There is a register of people waiting for re-housing. Applicants are placed in bands to reflect their housing need and re-housed in date order. The length of time you will wait for an offer will depend on the priority awarded to your application and the areas you are interested in.

If your application is successful you will then get: 

  • access to the Croydon Choice website we use to advertise properties
  • information on how to express your interest in a property

Once you receive an offer we will arrange for you to view the property.
