Sheltered housing

Sheltered housing offers the peace of mind in knowing that support is available 24 hours a day, with an alarm system that can be activated from the rooms in your flat and from the communal areas.

Keeping your independence

You'll have your own flat and friends and family can visit you at any time, they are not old people's homes. You will be able to do the following independently:

  • cooking
  • housework
  • laundry
  • paying your bills
  • coming and going
  • choosing your doctor

You will have 24 hour access to support from an officer via a pull-cord system. The officer will be able to guide you with any housing or support-related services. If you need help with day to day activities, or with accessing care at home or district nurses, support will be there to put you in touch with the right services. The officer can assist you in arranging for other council and voluntary organisation staff to visit and give advice on services that are available to you.
