Bulky waste we collect

What we collect

We can collect a wide range of household items, including:

  • Large household appliances - eg fridges, cookers, microwaves, washing machines and dishwashers
  • televisions, hi-fi equipment and computers
  • sofas and armchairs
  • tables and chairs
  • bathroom items such as sinks, toilets and baths
  • bicycles and garden furniture
  • beds and mattresses
  • carpets and rugs

We only collect items you have specified in your order, so do not leave additional items without amending your order. We collect single items which can be handled and loaded on to the vehicle by no more than two workers.

What we do not collect

Hazardous waste

This includes:

  • asbestos
  • chemicals
  • gas bottles
  • glass and mirrors
  • paints or varnishes
  • tyres

This includes:

  • gas cylinders

  • tyres

Construction waste

This includes:

  • broken tiles
  • plasterboard
  • rubble
  • earth
  • soil

Items to take to a reuse and recycling centre

You can take the following to a reuse and recycling centre:

  • car batteries
  • cast iron baths
  • garden waste (you can arrange for garden waste to be collected through a subscription service)
  • piano
  • tiles
  • tree stumps
  • bags of household refuse

Amend your order

You can amend your bulky waste order up to 2 working days before it is due for collection.
